Over"Due" News

So I didn't blog this summer. Because the biggest news of the summer was something I didn't want to put out there yet. We found out the first week of June that we are expecting our third child! I've been throwing up, a lot, since about 6 weeks and am now 14 weeks along. It is at the same time thrilling and a little scary, but we are excited nonetheless.

What else?

Hayden went to day camp at Camp Lone Star and had a total blast swimming, playing in the woods and learning about Jesus everyday. Then he went to art camp for a week in Fayetteville, just 17 miles away. He celebrated his 8th birthday with a bowling party with a Lego Star Wars theme. I made cupcakes with light sabres sticking out of them.

I taught 3 full days a week in the 4's at Bear's preschool. Bear was in my class. That is both wonderful, enlightening, and sometimes problematic. But, summer school is over. We have one week before Hayden starts second grade and Bear moves up to 4K.

It's hard to include all the fun we had this summer into one post. We spent time with family, friends old and new, went swimming, played a lot, went to the new Lego place at Grapevine Mills, and in general had a good time.

Jason worked a lot as usual. In his off time he did a lot of building as usual. Except this time for football related things for his school and a friend's school.

Last night I took the boys to the Fayette County Sheriff's Posse rodeo while Jason was out scouting. Bear, who is afraid of petting zoos and dogs that aren't on the other side of a fence, entered the mutton bustin. I was excited and very shocked when he actually went into the chute when they called him, got on the sheep, and held on as long as he could when they opened it before the sheep threw him off. He absolutely LOVED the rodeo and is desperate to go back tonight and very much wants to enter the mutton bustin again. He is sure he can win the belt buckle that is the first prize tonight. LOL!

That reminds me of another few funny things last night. Bear was sad Jason couldn't go to the rodeo with us and so I told him that daddy had to go to "Spy on the team we were playing next and learn all their secrets." He thinks daddy is a genius now. And on the way home last night he was disappointed that a truck was driving faster than me until he realized that you can't break the "speed lemon" or the police will get you. I just let him keep saying "speed lemon" and not correcting him. Loved it. Hayden wasn't so into the rodeo. He rode the mechanical bull an couple of times and then was tired and hungry and wanted to go home.

Silence is officially over! :)
