No snow........yet

So I've been cracking up all week reading the posts of friends in Wichita Falls who will be "enjoying" snow day number 4 tomorrow. They started out all happy and having fun playing in the snow. Then they got progressively crankier and antsier. We have had no snow, but very cold weather. Tonight it is supposed to snow (which is apparently super rare here). There is not a single flake in the sky, and school has been delayed 2 hours tomorrow. I'm honestly hoping it gets canceled. Mama needs a day off. I've worked at least a half day every day this week and tomorrow is supposed to be a day off. But if school isn't cancelled I'm gonna go teach at Bear's preschool. Mama needs a nap. I know that sounds so spoiled of me, but I'm a stay at home mom, who subs on the side. Not vice versa. And I have two full day and two half day jobs scheduled already next week.

Jason has the flu. We think. He never took the tamiflu he was supposed to take when Hayden got it so he came home today and started it. Has a fever of 102. Hoping he gets better fast.

What else? So I used to use babysitters on a regular basis if I had something for work or junior league and an occasional night out with my hubby. I haven't paid a babysitter since June of 2010. I can't tell you what a big deal that is. It's definately saved us a lot of money, but it's cost us time out together. Other than a date over Thanksgiving and Christmas while in Fort Worth, we haven't had a date since July. We have missed it. Wednesday night we dumped our kids on wonderful friends and drove to Chilis in Brenham. It was soooo nice. We will be returning the favor with their kids very soon. Hopefully we'll do this more often!

Made another easy great crock pot meal on Tuesday. I put in a package of boneless skinless chicken thighs, a can of cream of mushroom, a can of golden mushroom and a can of mushroom stems and pieces. Oh, and I sprinkled chicken with salt and cayenne before pouring on soups. Low for 6 hours. Chicken completely fell apart and was delicious. De-li-cious.

I subbed for Jason Wednesday and now need to make cupcakes for one of his classes. With my permission he bribes them that whoever I say was the best behaved class I'll make cupcakes for.

Mexican Monday was my "famous" enchiladas. I'm borrowing that term from Pioneer. We are thrilled that our children have discovered how wonderful enchiladas are and now enjoy them. Bear ate 3 and a half. By the way, the canned Rosarita Fat Free refried beans are really good. We have a can most Mexican Mondays with whatever I fix. I may have to add a Taco Tuesday and a Quesadilla day to the schedule because we love Mexican Mondays so much, and honestly, can you get enough mexican food? Maybe wing wednesday, that would be good too.
